UACUA at CUNA Government Affairs Conference (GAC) – Washington DC – The GAC is the largest advocacy event for credit unions and our most visible opportunity to petition lawmakers for their support of the credit union difference held this year March 3 – 7.

Ukrainian American credit union leaders met with NCUA Vice Chairman Kyle Hauptman – from Left to rights are Peter Charchalis, Olesksa Breslawec (Ukrainian Self Reliance FCU – Philadelphia), Andrij Vignanski, Vice chairman Kyle Hauptman  – Anatoli Murha – UACUA Chairman/Ukrainian Self Reliance FCU CEO, Oleg Lebedko – Ukrainian FCU (Rochester) CEO and Vitaliy Kutnyy – CEO Selfreliance FCU ( Chicago).

Anatoli Murha- UACUA CEO, and Oleg Lebedko, CEO of Ukrainian Federal Credit Union, represented the Ukrainian American Credit Union Association and the World Council of Ukrainian Cooperatives at the “Cooperative Voices” event in Washington DC at the International Spy Museum hosted by the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions (WFCU).

Pictured with Anatoli and Oleg are Alisa Stetsyshyn a WFCU Grant Consultant and Mike Reuter, Executive Director of the WFCU. The WFCU has been a staunch supporter of credit unions in Ukraine since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Alisa, a Ukrainian national, spoke to the audience about the resilience of Kharkiv, Ukraine the last two years and how a new pilot program for credit unions is supporting individuals and entrepreneurs.
